Contributions
The purpose of granting contributions to finance projects submitted by civil protection volunteer organizations is to enhance the quality and growth of volunteering. This initiative is outlined in Article 37 of Legislative Decree No. 1 of 2018, which aims to safeguard and promote the involvement of volunteer organizations in all civil protection activities.
The Civil Protection Department may provide funding to voluntary organizations that are registered on the National List for projects aimed at:
▪ upgrading equipment and resources
▪ enhancing the technical preparedness of volunteers
▪ promoting awareness and understanding of civil protection
▪ engaging organized civil protection volunteers in the civil protection planning activities conducted by municipalities (pilot measure)
Contributions are provided within the limits of the annual budget allocated for this purpose.
The rules for submitting projects, their evaluation, and the allocation of related contributions are determined by criteria set forth by the Department of Civil Protection and are valid for three years.
In particular, the Decree of the Head of Department No. 1472 of May 30, 2023, establishes the criteria for contributions to voluntary organizations for the three years 2023-2025.
Note of the Head of Department DPC/SV/60845 of November 27, 2024, contains recommendations and directions for projects to be submitted for 2024-2025.
To implement the provisions of art. 7 "Annual financial ceilings - ordinary resources" of the Criteria for the granting by the Civil Protection Department of contributions to organized volunteering in the three years 2023-2025 outlined in the Decree of the Head of Department of Civil Protection rep. No. 1472 of 30.05.2023, it is hereby announced that:
The total amount allocated for the funding of proposed projects in the year 2024 is € 3,500,000.00, of which:
- 50% equal to € 1,750,000.00 for the national quota
- 35% equal to € 1,225,000.00 for the regional quota
- 15% equal to € 525,000.00 for the local quota
In reference to the additional funds resulting from accrued expenditure savings and available for the plans aimed at replenishing and enhancing operational capacity, as stipulated in Article 4 of Decree No. 1472 dated May 30, 2023, this is to inform you that, following the planned assessment, a total amount of €544,064.18 has been identified. According to the decree above, this amount will be allocated as follows: 25% (€136,016.05) will be directed towards the mixed measure, and 75% (€408,048.13) will be allocated to the exceptional increase in the local quota.
